NCDEX Chana Tips
Chana futures witnessed a firm trade during the last trading session. It opened firm followed by sharp profit booking, however weak arrival and improved demand supported the price to end the day on a very firm note. Key spot market witnessed highly mixed trade with key markets of Bikaner witnessing down move of Rs. 30, whereas key market of Delhi witnessed an up move of Rs 32. export demand perked up dollar chana or chickpea in local mandis by Rs 100 a quintal to Rs 5,800-6,300 a quintal. Because of the festival, arrival in local mandis declined to 3,000-4,000 bags against 7,500-8,000 bags on Wednesday.
NCDEX Pepper Tips
Pepper futures extended its bullish trend, hit the 4 percent maximum upper circuit and record highs. The spot price for garbled pepper traded higher at Rs.41600 per 100kg. As per market source, growers are holding back stocks in anticipation of a further rise in prices, leading to a supply crunch in the market.
However, according to Indian Pepper and Spice Trade Association, the daily arrivals improved to 28 tonnes from 3-12 tonnes on previous trading days. Also, reports of limit supply of Vietnamese crop are adding to bullish trend.
NCDEX Jeera Tips
Jeera prices are expected to fall for short term on probable increase in daily arrivals amid estimated rise in production. On Wednesday, arrivals in Unjha were around 18000 bags against 20000 bags on previous trading day. The spot price was quoted at Rs.13400 per 100kg. According to a trade source, the daily arrivals are expected to cross 20000-25000 bags in the next week. As per market sources, the total production of jeera in the current year is estimated to be around 35 lakh bags (1 bag = 55 kgs) against 28 lakh bags that were reported in the last year.
